Taylor Fritz wins the BOSS Open supported by Porsche

On Sunday, the American Taylor Fritz won the BOSS Open in Stuttgart, Germany. In its role as the Official Car & Mobility Partner, Porsche offered attractive brand experiences for players and visitors alike at the long-standing event hosted at the city’s TC Weissenhof club.

In the dream final of the ATP 250 tournament, Taylor Fritz, the No. 2 seed, defeated top-seeded Alexander Zverev 6-3, 7-6(0). In winning his ninth tour title – his fourth on grass – the 27-year-old American crowned a perfect tournament week in Stuttgart and successfully kicked off his preparations for the season’s highlight in Wimbledon. It was only the third time in the history of the event that two Top 10 players have faced each other in the final.

“I’ve been coming here to Stuttgart since 2016 and can certainly say the tournament is getting better every year. The crowd is great, and the organisation is perfect,” said the winner. "It was not so great a clay season so I’m super happy at starting the grass season by getting the title here.“ His victory has moved him up to No. 4 in the world rankings.

“I couldn’t be happier at having played here. It was a such nice week,” said Alexander Zverev, who, despite the impressive performance in Stuttgart, is still waiting for his first success on grass. “I hope I’ll be in next year’s French Open final but if not, I’ll be delighted to come back here.”

Attractive brand experiences for players and visitors

Through its involvement at the long-established event staged at the TC Weißenhof club, Porsche has not only augmented its sales activities in the region. The sports car manufacturer has therefore underlined its commitment to top-class tennis in Stuttgart. After the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix at which the world’s best women players competed in the Porsche Arena in April, the BOSS Open was another tennis highlight in the capital of the Federal State of Baden Württemberg.

Porsche was the Official Car & Mobility Partner for a third time now at the BOSS Open which was excellently attended once again this year. As a part of its involvement, the sports car manufacturer provided the courtesy cars for the players and officials. The chance to use the total of 23 electric vehicles belonging to the Taycan, Panamera, Macan and Cayenne models proved to be highly popular. Players additionally took advantage of the opportunity to test drive a Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS and a Porsche Taycan Turbo S. There was also a brand experience for the BOSS Open visitors. In the tournament’s public village, they were able to get a close look at a Porsche Macan Turbo in Oak Green Metallic.

Porsche in Tennis

The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix is the flagship of Porsche’s worldwide involvement in women’s tennis. First played in Filderstadt in 1978, the long-standing Stuttgart tournament has been held in the city’s Porsche Arena since 2006. It stands for tradition and innovation, as does the Porsche brand. As the most loyal sponsor of women’s international tennis, Porsche has accompanied the WTA’s oldest indoor event right from the start. Furthermore, Porsche has been supporting women’s tennis internationally for years. Iga Swiatek, Eva Lys and Maria Sakkari are “Friends of the Brand” in their home countries. Porsche has been a premium partner of the “Deutsche Tennis Bund” (DTB – German Tennis Association) since 2012 and is committed to fostering up-and-coming players in the Porsche Talent Team and the Porsche Junior Team.
